A Mother's Love

Everyone kept trying to tell me how much my heart would long for this little guy but no matter what anyone says, you never know until you feel it firsthand. I could seriously just sit and watch him sleep for hours....although lately I have been trying to catch some Zs when he does!

Male Bonding

Kaleb and Alf have really bonded over the last 4 weeks. Kaleb is still trying to get used to Daddy's kisses with his scratchy facial hair though. I think this picture says it all. Too cute!

Uncle Ross and Aunt Ashley

Kaleb was very excited to meet his Uncle Ross and Aunt Ashley! They bonded right away. Ross and Ashley live in Amarillo, TX so he will miss them very much! :(

New Swaddle blankets

We got Kaleb these new swaddle blankets and they work like a charm!! Alf carries him around like a football.

Too funny

So, we finally were able to give Kaleb a real bath since his circumcision healed and his belly button fell off and it was hilarious to say the least. First, as soon as we put him in the water, he peed straight into the air! We drained the sink and tried again. We got him almost completely bathed when we noticed the water turning yellow. Apparently he enjoyed being submerged in the water and was so VERY relaxed during his bath that after turning him over to wash his backside, we noticed he had pooped!! ha! Needless to say, he got three baths in one night so now he is extremely clean....who needs outside entertainment when you have a baby?? ;)

Date night

Since Grandma was here, Alf and I were able to go on a date night! It was so great to be able to reconnect since our whole world has changed in the last 2 weeks. We went to Sushi,which I had been craving my whole pregnancy and then did a little shopping (mostly for Kaleb:) Thanks Grandma for babysitting!

Grandma is here!!

My Mom came in town this week and she is completely in love with her new grandson. He quickly took to her as well!

Things I Love About Being A New Mom

1) Looking into his eyes and feeling a love that I never knew existed
2) Him falling asleep on my chest and taking a long nap together
3) Kissing his little face, hands, feet and loving how great he smells
4) Watching how unbelievable Alf is with him
5) Knowing that this is just the beginning and it will only get better...

First Bath and Swing Ride

So, Kaleb doesn't care too much for baths. But he sure looks cute in his hoodie towel! He also loves the new swing that Ashley let us borrow. Thanks Ashley!!

Weekend outing

We took Kaleb for a walk around his neighborhood yesterday and he enjoyed it so much that he slept right through it. I got to try out my new sling that Ross and Ash gave me for Christmas which works like a charm. I can carry him and have both my hands free!
