36 weeks

So I am 36 weeks today and I had another Dr. visit yesterday. She said I am not dilated at all but that I am 50-70% effaced (meaning my cervix is starting to thin out). It's really starting to get uncomfortable, especially sleeping at night. I have pretty much grown out of my maternity tops and I am starting to feel like that fat guy at the State Fair with his beer gut hanging free from his half-shirt that appropriately reads "Livin' tha dream."
I really hope Kaleb gets done baking sooner rather than later!!

35 weeks

I had my 35 week pre-natal ultrasound and check-up yesterday and my doctor said everything looked great! She estimated Kaleb to be around 5.7 pounds and said he will probably be on the smaller side at birth. (b/t 6.5 and 7 pounds) Which is great with me!! ;) We could see his little chubby cheeks and it looks like he has a little bit of hair...which he obviously gets from his daddy b/c I was bald until I was 2 yrs old!

San Fran pic

Me with Alcatraz in the background. We wanted to take the ferry but not only was there a crazy long line but I was afraid I would barf. ha!

I wanted to include some more pics! Here is Alf when we went to San Fran in Oct. He is looking off a cliff at Half Moon Bay. It was so gorgeous there!

33 weeks

Hit 33 weeks today, YAY! I am in the home stretch and I am starting to feel it! Kaleb is now very strong and uses my organs as punching bags and my ribs as kicking pads. I told Alf to put his hand where he was kicking and he was like, "Oh my gosh, what does that feel like??" Words cannot describe my love, words cannot describe, but it doesn't feel good. ;) That's when Alf leaned over to my belly and told Kaleb that when he comes out, he's grounded for hurting his Mommy. ha!
I ran some errands today and when I was waddling out of the store a lady told me I looked "adorable." I have to say it made my day b/c I don't FEEL too terribly adorable lately.

Vent session

So, I switched over to a blog b/c it's way easier than the last website to download pics and type what you want to say. So enjoy!
I also wanted to get some things off my abnormally large chest today b/c I read my last post and I had to laugh. "A little more tired than normal" is truly an understatement. Is it bad that I want to sleep for 20 of the 24 hours in a day? And then just eat for the other 4?
I think I have tried to be PC lately but it's time to get real about this whole 3rd trimester pregnancy business. Although there are many wonderful things about being pregnant and I have enjoyed being pregnant(aside from morning sickness) up until recently, there are also some not-so-wonderful things about pregnancy.....

Here are some observations I have made in the last month:
1) Shaving anywhere below the belly button has pretty much become well, guessing where the hairline starts and where it ends....and praying that it doesn't turn out to look like that time in 7th grade when you thought it would be a good idea to cut your own bangs the day before school pictures.
2) Becoming very familiar with new "friends" that have appeared all over your body such as spider veins, other larger and darker veins, fat pockets and strange bumps in places I can't see, only feel. I think I am going to start naming them.
3) No matter how many people look at you and say things like "OH, you're barely showing!" They are liars and cannot be trusted. Immediately threaten to show them your bare belly and backside and they will flee quickly and quietly.
4) No matter how much you enjoy shopping with your friends do not, I repeat, DO NOT go clothes shopping with your skinny cute friend, Janae and watch her fit perfectly into anything off the rack and then kid yourself into thinking you could wear the same thing (just in a bigger size). You will feel huge and cry in your car on the way home.
5) If they don't already, people will start to treat you like you are made of glass and if a stiff wind blows your way, you will spontaneously shatter into a million pieces. Yes, I can still drive my car, carry my purse and a grocery bag with chips in it and no, I don't need help walking into a building. I am "with child", not handicapped.
6) So I have these zits, well actually more like tumors growing in my face that no matter what I do, will not leave. I am truly starting to think that perhaps they also are tiny fetuses that somehow took a wrong turn on the way to my uterus and landed in my chin and I will have to give birth to them at some point as well. good times.

Ahh, I feel much better now that I let some of that out. Moms-I'm sure many of you can relate to a lot of this and if you can't well, I hate you. ;) I'm sure I will be blessed with some additional observations over the next couple of months so I will be sure to share those as well.
Thanks for reading~!

32 weeks

I am now at 32 weeks and feeling good. Just a little more tired than normal. I am starting to get anxious about the whole birthing process, but I know there is nothing I can do but just let it happen as it should. God will take care of the rest.
I keep seeing all these pictures of mixed Asian/White babies and they are so cute! The curiosity of just what he will look like is too much!
We have another Drs appt. and ultrasound tomorrow and then after that I start going every WEEK! I think that whole process will get to be overwhelming.

New Years

Nae and I at New Year's! We had Mexican food for dinner, made Smores by the firepit and played games. It was fun!

Oliver

Had to include a pic of our current "baby" looking all cozy in his new comfy blanket. This one has such a hard life.....
